Create Bootable USB From ISO

How do you install Windows, Linux or any other operating system in your computer? You probably find a DVD containing the image of the OS and simply installs it. But what do you do if your CD/DVD drive is broken? How will you install? An alternative way to install OS in your computer without disc is booting it via USB drive. Installing Windows or Linux using USB is not so difficult as you think. One thing you need to consider before installing Windows/Linux from USB is enabling usb boot in bios setting. Then you need to change the boot order. For this, toggle the order of boot to usb first. This is all you need to do beforehand, and get ready to create bootable USB in windows.

Well, before you start you need to download the program Rufus, which is the software we are using here. Rufus is a free light weight program used to boot OS from USB, and we can easily operate on it without difficulties.

Create bootable USB from ISO in Windows

  1. Download Rufus and Install.
  2. Run Rufus
  3. Select your prefered USB device.
  4. Leave the partition scheme as default
  5. Change file system to NTFS
  6. Do not modify cluster size
  7. Edit volume lable (Optional)
  8. In the format options, uncheck the first box and check the next three as in the image.
  9. Select ISO image from the drop down menu and locate your ISO image file containing the OS.
  10. Finally click on start and after completion close itRufus Window
